Robin Gisby
I did Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A level and then did a degree in Engineering Science before going into industry where I mainly worked abroad for 15 years. I also did an MBA.
I am now 63 and have a number of non executive and advisory roles in large engineering-type businesses. I am Chairman of the London North Eastern Railway that runs from Kings Cross to Scotland. I am on the Board of the organisation that manages the MOD’s infrastructure – the barracks, airfields, naval bases, training locations and accommodation.
I am also Chairman of the UK’s largest independent bulk storage operator for vehicle fuel and chemicals, an Advisor to SNC-Lavalin the Canadian infrastructure and engineering group where I am working on a project in Toronto and I also work with EngineeringUK which promotes engineering to schoolchildren. I was previously on the board of Leeds Bradford International Airport.
I used to be the “Fat Controller” at Network Rail where I ran the rail network day to day.
