Richard Wilson

Richard Wilson has been Chief Executive of interactive investor, the UK’s second largest investment platform for private investors, since 2017. His passions for service and people have been central to his career and are at the heart of everything ii stands for. While leading ii, Richard has also led on campaigning issues such as shareholder democracy, financial education in schools, and he has been a vocal critic where the finance industry has fallen short on offering choice and transparency. Richard began his career as an operations clerk at Société Générale, with his lattermost role being Chief Technology Officer. For three decades Richard has been driving and delivering change across the finance industry, including roles as Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer at institutional and retail brokers and banks in Europe and the USA.

He is a non-executive director of the Personal Investment Management & Financial Advice Association (PIMFA), the UK wealth industry trade body. He is also nonexecutive director of First Bank SA, a Romanian retail and commercial bank, and the Medical Research Network, a leading clinical trials organisation. Richard holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
