Songwriter and Entrepreneur

Songs that Geoff has written have been recorded by Elvis Presley, The Carpenters, Barry Manilow, Cliff Richard, Johnny Mathis, Jessie J, Jonas Brothers and many other top artists. The worldwide standard, “Can’t Smile without You”, made famous by Barry Manilow, has sold over 22 million copies, and received accreditation from BMI for being one of only 30 songs to have had over 3 million airplays in America. Geoff also had the great privilege of co-writing four songs for Elvis Presley.

Geoff formed two record companies and had hits around the world, discovering and cultivating many artists including “Guys ‘n Dolls”, David Essex “Edison Lighthouse”, Joe Brown, and “Butterscotch”. One record company was sold to RCA and the other to EMI.

In 1990 he bought the Opera House and Palace Theatres in Manchester for £6 million and produced numerous shows there. He was also a Director and major shareholder of Caesers Palace, Luton, then one of the largest and well-known cabaret clubs in England with a capacity of 1150 dinner guests. He also owned a group of restaurants, including the notorious and successful “School Dinners.”

Geoff has written five screenplays and six musicals which have been produced on the stage. and currently has two shows and a movie in development. Filming starts later this year on his latest screenplay, based on the life of Theodor Herzl.

Geoff was C.E.O. of a Public company with diverse interest in the entertainment and media sectors, including production investment in theatre. The company’s productions including “Sunset Boulevard” starring Glenn Close in London and Broadway, and “42nd Street” at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Geoff is 80, and has 6 children. (He worked a lot from home!)
