How do Speakers for Schools use evidence to inform policy, shape practices, and improve social mobility?
We believe in evidence-led action
And that is exactly why evidence underpins our strategy and everything we do as a charity.
Our Policy, Research, and Impact team plays a fundamental role in ensuring that we always have the evidence to substantiate what we say, that we have robust measures for tracking impact, and that we always put our learning to the best possible use by using our influence to drive transformational change at a community and system level.
3 ways we increase our influence
By growing the evidence base
Undertaking and commissioning research means we continuously find ways to improve our offering and others can benefit from our findings too.
Through thought leadership
Influencing policymakers at a local and national level with expertise on providing practical solutions to systemic problems.
By maximising our impact
Improving our offer to young people from state schools and colleges by continuous application of best practice and drawing on evidence.
Meet Dr. Elnaz Kashef, our Director of Policy, Research, and Impact
“Evidence shows that structural barriers and regional inequalities act as a multiplier for disadvantage that can significantly impede a young person’s life outcomes. Yet research also indicates that closing the opportunity gap is not only achievable but also not prohibitively expensive. We welcome the chance to share our insights and expertise with policymakers and work together to drive true transformational change in the UK.”
