Work experience at a museum of architecture and design in central London

Join the Zaha Hadid Foundation (ZHF), for your work experience within a charity and museum dedicated to architecture and design.

What ZHF does:

• organise free public exhibitions about art, design and architecture
• research into architecture and design
• host educational events like talks, workshops and student visits
• looks after a large collection of architectural drawings, books and models

At ZHF, you will work and speak with a range of staff from our organisation and get an insight into a museum and a range of different careers. Each staff member has a different role and they are all essential to enable ZHF to be successful, those jobs include finance, conservation of objects, building facilities, marketing, research, education and the curation and management of exhibitions. We will provide five days at two different sites in central London and you will have time with different tasks and staff so you get a varied experience of the workplace and of a museum. At our two sites we have offices, an exhibition gallery, a library, spaces where our museum objects are stored, classrooms and meeting rooms.

Our museum has a focus on buildings, especially on the work of visionary female architect Zaha Hadid, a designer of world-class buildings such as the Aquatics Centre in Stratford. ZHF will be of particular interest to anyone who likes architecture, but this is not essential!

Please note, we are not architects, so we do not design any buildings nor can we offer architectural training, but we may still be suitable if you are interested in a career related to architecture as well as museums or charities.
