There are many opportunities on offer in the National Trust and events and marketing are key areas. This opportunity will give you an insight into the process from event design through to marketing the event. You will learn;

-the importance of linking events to the property

-the limitations of events in heritage properties

-different ways of marketing

-marketing techniques to reach your audiences

As Europe’s largest conservation charity, we look after nature, beauty and history for everyone to enjoy. We do it with the help of millions of members, volunteers, staff and donors. Without this, we couldn’t care for the miles of coastline, woodlands, countryside historic buildings.

Experience You Will Gain:

  • This experience is unique to the National Trust so you will learn about key areas related to a conservation charity. We will look at the charity/business model so you can get a greater understanding of non-profit organisations versus profit organisations
  • You will learn skills in programming events and linking them to the property and your audience. You will look at the limitations posed in a heritage property; conservation versus visitor experience. Complete a team task in event design and programming
  • Understand the different types of marketing strategies Explore the primary social media platforms and their audiences Learn about creating effective and engaging content How we collaborate with National Trust regional and central teams and align local marketing with broader organisational goals How we evaluate marketing campaigns
  • Look at career pathways and progression, focusing on routes into the areas covered throughout the day and top tips to use in your chosen career pathways
