Deep dive into careers in care with Care UK - Ipswich

This opportunity is open to young people aged 14-18.

Care UK has a brilliant opportunity for young people keen to explore careers in care to join us for work experience at Prince George House care home in Ipswich.

During the work experience, which will take place over the course of three days, you will explore various roles and experience a ‘day in the life of’ colleagues who work in our care homes. You will:

·      Learn about different types of direct care and non direct care roles and responsibilities

·      Learn about careers and the variety of development opportunities to grow and progress

·      Shadow professionals at work

·      Learn and practice essential skills that are paramount when working in care, no matter what the job role

·      Work with others to create and deliver a social activity for residents with the support of Care UK colleagues

·      Gain reflective practice and other skills that you can add to your CV

Many of the people in our care homes are living with dementia (impaired ability to remember or make decisions). Applicants may need to attend a virtual ‘getting to know you’ call, with educators present with representatives of Care UK as part of the work experience.
