Please note: This opportunity is open to applications from students based in Camden only.

During your time at Cadent Gas, you will learn more about Cadent, where we operate and what we do and will be asked to design a short video for young people looking to join the industry. We are a fossil fuel business but are supporting the government in the net zero challenge, specifically in the area of hydrogen. This is a challenging transition, as you will learn during your time with us.

Over the week, you will hear from colleagues in various parts of the business about how we keep customers safe and warm in their homes, providing a 24/7 gas emergency service. You will hear about the exciting places we work and the challenges our engineers face on a daily basis. We will also tell you about the project we are developing with Minecraft, and how we use technology to reduce the time we take to replace pipes in the busiest areas. Finally, our attraction specialist will provide you with the link to upload your templates for editing, and these can be used for your final presentation.

At the end of the week, you will:

  • Understand the transition process from net zero and the challenges, including safety and physical capacity.
  • Take a look at the different types of work a Cadent engineer does and pick out the areas we need to highlight to prospective employees.
  • Understand how we support customers in vulnerable situations, including those with communication barriers.
  • Get an overview of the other roles available within the business.
  • Provide feedback on how we can communicate this message to young people and, more importantly, what elements would be of interest.
  • Be confident working as a team and presenting your findings to senior leaders from Cadent.

When applying, answer the following questions
