CyberFirst Bursary Virtual Insight Day (The National Cyber Security Centre)

CyberFirst is a programme of opportunities to help young people explore their passion for tech by introducing them to the fast paced world of cyber security.

We are looking for students with a desire to have an interesting and varied career in cyber security to join our CyberFirst Student Bursary scheme, which aims to help, support, and prepare students for a career in cyber security.

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) leads the bursary, and works with over 150 other government departments and selected industry members to offer students an excellent development package whilst studying for an undergraduate degree. 

During the years you study at a UK university, you’ll receive a bursary of £4,000 per year, tax free. Each summer, you’ll either complete training at a CyberFirst Academy or an 8-week development placement with NCSC, a government body, or one of our industry members. You’ll receive a summer payment equivalent to £2,000. In addition, you may receive a contribution to your accommodation costs.

You’ll need to have (or expect to have) 3 ‘A’ levels in any subject at Grade B or above (or equivalent to 120 UCAS points) and have an offer (or be applying) to study an Undergraduate degree or Integrated masters in any subject at a UK university from September 2025.
