Jonathan Newby

Trustee, Museum of the Home & Former Managing Director, Science Museum Group

Jonathan Newby is Deputy Director & Chief Operating Officer of the Science Museum Group, which includes the Science Museum (London), the Museum of Science and Industry (Manchester), the National Science and Media Museum (Bradford) and the National Railway Museum (York). In this role, he has Group-wide responsibility for the management of operations and resources including Learning, Digital, People and Culture, and Corporate Services (Finance, ICT, Legal, Commercial) across all sites.
At the Science Museum, Jonathan also oversees the Exhibitions and Public Programme, Collections and Visitor Experience teams. Prior to joining the Group, originally as MD of the Enterprises division in 2009, Jonathan had amassed over 20 years’ experience in the media and publishing sector.
