Interim Pro Vice Chancellor (Education) and Professor of Music and Technology at the University of Hull

Dr Andrew Professor Andrew King is Interim Pro Vice Chancellor (Education) and Professor of Music and Technology at the University of Hull. Andrew was Head of the School of The Arts at the University of Hull from 2017-2023 and was Interim Head of Criminology and Sociology from January 2020 until February 2021. A Professor in Music & Technology and a Principal Fellow of the HEA and also the Associate Principal of the University of Hull, Scarborough Campus from 2009 and 2013 . He has been teaching in Higher Education for over 20 years and began his career at the University of Northumbria before moving to the University of Hull in 1999. He started off life at Hull University as lecturer and then became Director of the Music Studios in 2000. In 2005 he became Director of Studies for Music Technology and in 2009 Deputy Dean (Learning & Teaching) and then Associate Principal in 2012. He is also involved in teaching and research within the music department and in 2007 was awarded a University Teaching Fellowship. He has acted as external examiner for the Royal Northern College of Music and is also Editor of the international peer-reviewed ‘Journal of Music, Technology & Education’.
