Professor Martyn Amos
Professor of Computer and Information Sciences, Northumbria University
Martyn Amos is an academic and author. He is Acting Head of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Northumbria University, UK, and carries out research at the intersections of computing, biology, engineering, healthcare and psychology. He has published a number of books, including the popular science title āGenesis Machinesā, which led the Times Higher to observe that āAmos is a born communicator, that rare breed among scientists who write fluently in an understandable and approachable way about difficult concepts.ā He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, and holds degrees from Coventry University (B.Sc.) and the University of Warwick (Ph.D.)
