Rt Hon Sir Sajid Javid

Sir Sajid Javid is a former senior UK Cabinet Minister who has held six Cabinet positions, including Chancellor of the Exchequer, Home Secretary and Secretary of State for Health. He served as the Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove from 2010 until 2024.

Born in Rochdale and raised in Bristol, attending his local state schools, Sir Sajid studied Economics and Politics at the University of Exeter. At age 25, he became a Vice President at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, and later joined Deutsche Bank in London, where he rose to Senior Managing Director, helping to grow the bank’s emerging markets businesses.

In 2009, he left a successful international finance career to enter public service. Elected to Parliament in 2010, he quickly rose through the ranks, holding a series of influential roles across government. These included Economic Secretary, Financial Secretary, Culture Secretary, Business Secretary, Communities Secretary, Home Secretary, Chancellor and Health Secretary.

He has written for leading publications such as The Wall Street Journal Europe, The Daily Telegraph, and The Times, and has long been active in charitable work—raising over £700,000 in a single evening for the Disasters Emergency Committee and leading a Mount Kilimanjaro expedition for Help the Aged.

Today, Sir Sajid works at the intersection of global finance, public policy, and philanthropy. He is a Partner at Centricus, a London-based global investment firm, and also serves as Chair-elect of the UK Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, who’s Patron is HM The King

Sir Sajid is married to Laura, and they have four children.
