Sara Luder
I worked for over 30 years as a tax lawyer in the City, and headed the tax department of Slaughter and May, one of the “magic circle” law firms. I advised clients on the tax aspects of some of the largest and most complex corporate transactions, including mergers and financings. Slaughter and May is a partnership and I was a partner for 22 years, and also sat on all the various management committees that run the firm.
I am passionate about diversity and whilst at Slaughter and May I formed the firm’s parenting network and its women’s network, and also helped set up its female leadership development programme.
Since leaving Slaughter and May I have gone back to university to study maths. I am also currently a trustee of Bournemouth University and of School Home Support, a charity that works with schools to overcome barriers to education, improving engagement in learning and attendance.
I swim competitively. I do compete in the pool, but my real passion is long distance open water swimming.
