
Tim Allan
Tim’s career has spanned business and politics. At the beginning of his career, he worked for Tony Blair, for 6 years. As Alastair Campbell’s deputy, he was part of the team which secured the 1997 General Election landslide victory, and he then worked as a Deputy Press Secretary in 10 Downing Street. He left Number 10 to work at Sky, where he worked first as Director of Communications and then as part of the in house business strategy team. In 2001, after his INSEAD MBA, he founded Portland. Over the course of 18 years as its Managing Director, Tim grew Portland into one of the most renowned reputation management companies in the UK. Its operations expanded into four continents, employing over 280 people. He sold the business to Omnicom Inc, with the sale completing in 2019. He now invests in communications businesses, including Strand Partners, which he chairs.
